Our exciting plans to convert a former church in Ince, Wigan, have been granted planning permission.

For the first time ever in the town HPBC will offer a reduction on the purchase price by using the home buyers’ sweat equity to save money on the 27 new homes,

Our award-winning approach, to help local people get on the property ladder by using 500 hours of sweat equity to reduce their deposit by £10,000, has enabled residents on previous developments to buy, where they may typically have found it difficult to raise a deposit.

The former church will be converted into 10 homes – 3 two bed houses, and 6 x three, and two bed apartments and 1x one bed apartment. The presbytery will be converted into 2 x three bed apartments and 1 x one bed apartments.  There will also be 14 three bed new build family homes built.

The appealing design will incorporate the architecture of the church, the presbytery will be conserved and the character, history and charm of the buildings will be retained.  The new build homes and all those within the church and presbytery will be energy efficient and built to meet the latest building regulations.

Buyers, known as ‘home partners’, will be able to access shared ownership mortgages, making mortgages more accessible and affordable and enabling buyers to aim for 100% ownership in the future.
