HPBC relies on developing significant partnerships. These partnerships are built on a shared vision of creating high-quality, safe, good quality and affordable homes while also building strong communities. Our projects offer the local community who would not otherwise be able to get onto the property ladder the opportunity to own their own homes through HPBC’s unique sweat equity/shared ownership model.

Our founding partner

The Liverpool Roman Catholic Archdiocese who gifted the charity our initial 2.2 acres of land in Toxteth, Liverpool in 2005 where we built 32 homes. Much of this development was completed in partnership with Sanctuary Housing. The Archdiocese then gifted the charity the adjacent disused church and some additional land where we repurposed the church into 11 homes as well as five new build homes in partnership with Onward Homes.

Our Growth

HPBC’s journey began in 2002, when its founders co-organised the ‘twin beams’ commemoration with Liverpool City Council, promoting unity and community. Soon after, land was gifted to begin building 32 homes, supported by thousands of volunteers and designed by Ainsley Gommon Architects.

The partnership with Prima and Onward has transformed two disused historic landmarks on derelict brownfield sites into thriving, living and breathing assets for the local community, improving the wellbeing of not only home-partners but the wider neighbourhood.

In Ince, by retaining and refurbishing the derelict church and presbytery and building on the adjacent land, we have created thirteen 1, 2 and 3 bed apartments/duplexes and fourteen 3 bed new build homes.
