Liza Parry, MA
Chief Executive
Experience / Background:
Liza has nearly 30 years’ experience of developing, managing and marketing a range of projects for socially excluded people within the not for profit sector.
Previously, as Operations Director for a registered charity, she was responsible for the strategic development of the organisation, along with developing and delivering a range of services for socially excluded adults and youths in Merseyside and the surrounding area; and overseeing the management, supervision, coordination and professional development of the operational staff.
Liza was also chair of East Liverpool Community Trust Ltd (ELECT), an award winning social enterprise which helped establish over 500 new business, set up 30 social enterprises and get 800 people into full time sustainable employment. Earlier in her career she worked as a residential social worker and substance misuse counsellor.
She was Merseyside Women ‘Making a Difference’ award winner in 2003, a Daily Mail ‘Inspirational Woman of the Year’ winner in 2009 and finalist in the ‘Outstanding Woman in Construction’ category at the 2014 Woman in Construction Awards 2014.
What Liza brings to HPBC:
Liza’s significant experience of liaising with a range of stakeholders, commissioners, partners, MPs and local councillors has been invaluable to HPBC, as has her commitment to ensuring quality standards are measured and met in all areas of the business. She develops and drives our strategies, seeks land acquisitions and new development opportunities, manages our budget, identifies and pursues new sources of funding and takes responsibility for the welfare of our staff, volunteers and home partners. She is quite simply at the heart of everything we do.
Liza is a motivation and an inspiration to our team, running the organisation firmly, fairly and not without a sense of fun. As a qualified plumber she’s also been known to turn her hand to some of the more practical tasks on site!
